Porbandar is one of the most important city in India from historical and pilgrim point of view. It is the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. The Kirti Mandir, childhood home for Mahatma Gandhi, is one of the most important tourist attractions of this coastal city. It is also believed that Lord Krishna’s childhood friend and ardent devotee, Sudama, was also born in this city. This makes it a famous pilgrimage location in India.

Though Porbandar is a coastal city, the tourists cannot go swimming in the sea water because of the strong current. However, there are a number of tourist attractions in this city of ports.
