Mount Victoria Expedition 7 Days/ 6 Nights

The third highest peak of Myanmar, Mount Victoria is situated at the beautiful Nat Ma Taung National Park. With the breathtaking natural beauty this place captures the heart of the tourists. The excursion to Mount Victoria will start from Mandalay. In this expedition, you will experience the stunning natural landscapes with dense forests, snow laden mountains and flourishing valleys and magnificent ancient architecture in form of pagodas, temples, statues and monasteries.

Day 01: Arrive Mandalay

Upon arriving Mandalay, you will be welcomed by our guide who will escort you to your hotel. After refreshment, the tour will begin by sightseeing of the erstwhile royal capital of Myanmar, Mandalay. You will be taken to visit Mahamuni Paya, which is one of the most sacred sites of the country. This pagoda enshrines a four meter high gold statue of Buddha which is adorned with precious gems and is highly revered by the people of the country. There is a tradition to decorate the statue with gold leaves and you can also participate in the ritual by buying a pack of gold leafs from the outside shops. Apart from this Mandalay is also a place of several other pagodas and monasteries. Mandalay is renowned for its craftsmanship. You will be taken to the Kalaga Tapestries, handloom silk and gold leaf workshops. After that, proceed to enjoy the breathtaking view of the sunset from the top of Mandalay Hill. The day will conclude by travelling back to the hotel and overnight stay.

Day 02: Mandalay-Bagan by Car

The day will start with a hearty breakfast in the hotel, following which you will be taken to Bagan, a town of sublime temples overwhelming the natural scenery. This ancient city has a rich history and tradition. The old Bagan is the core of this ancient city with some of the main temples. Ananda Pahto, is one of the largest and most revered temples of Bagan. Spend time visiting these awe-inspiring and magnificent temples of Bagan, before retiring to the hotel in Bagan for overnight stay.

Day 03: Bagan-Kanpetlet

The excursion from Bagan will begin at early morning with an adventurous local boat ride, after which you will proceed to Kanpetlet by a four wheeler. Located at the southern Chin state, the town of Kanpetlet is located at 1400 meters above sea level. Along the route, you will witness the constantly changing scenery with breathtaking beauty. You will see arid plains giving way to dark and dense forests and magnificent mountains with stretches of flourishing rice fields and sleepy villages. The route to Kanpetlet goes via the town of Saw, where you will be served a sumptuous lunch. You will arrive at the township in the late afternoon whereupon you can spend the rest of the day exploring the Chin villages. Withhold the scenic beauty with terrace fields and fruit orchards and mountain peaks. The simple residents of these villages still wear their traditional dresses. The day will end with an overnight stay at the forest guesthouse.

Day 04: Kanpetlet-Nat Ma Taung National Park-Mount Victoria-Kanpetlet

Early morning after breakfast the excursion will be made to the Nat Ma Taung National Park. This stunning but not frequently visited national park is home to wide variety of flora and fauna. This is a great place for bird watchers as it houses a number of endemic species of birds including the endangered White-browed Nuthatch. With dense forests of pine trees and oak trees, this park exudes the natural charm. Set in this park of stunning natural beauty, is the highest mountain peak of Chin State, Mount Victoria. It is also the third highest peak of Myanmar, providing the beautiful view of the valleys below from its top. You will be taken to the second base camp through dense forests of oak trees by jeep. You will be served a simple lunch at the base camp, following which the two and half hour trek to reach the peak of Mount Victoria will start. The peak has a height of 3,053 meters above the sea level and in the months of November, December and February, the blooming colourful rhododendrons captivate the tourists. From the summit, enjoy the panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and beautiful clouds. You can also see the beautiful pagoda and a statue of Buddha from the peak.

In the afternoon return back to the forest guesthouse in Kanpetlet, thereafter you can take a stroll at the surrounding areas. The day will conclude with a dinner and overnight stay at the guesthouse.

Day 05: Kanpetlet-Mindat

The day will begin with the breakfast at Kanpetlet after which the tour will proceed to Mindat by a four wheeler. Mindat is a small town in the southern Chin State, known for its scenic beauty, friendly people and a rural environment. The surrounding mountains and dense pine and teak forests provide a breathtaking view. Enjoy the sightseeing and click some memorable pictures in this town of beautiful natural landscapes and traditional life of villagers. To those who love to remain close to nature and the rural setting, this place is a heaven. You can also visit the local market for Mindat and shop for beautiful and colourful tapestries, traditional clothing and other handicrafts. The day will conclude with and overnight stay at Mindat.

Day 06: Mindat-Bagan

After breakfast the tour will leave Mindat by a four wheeler to head back to Bagan with a different route. Enjoy the constantly changing scenery while travelling from Mindat to Bagan. The tour will reach Bagan in the late afternoon, whereupon you will be escorted to your hotel for freshening up and enjoying the refreshment. You will have an overnight stay at the hotel in Bagan, to catch your sleep as there will be an early departure to Mandalay the next morning.

Day 7: Bagan-Mandalay Departure

Start your day by a hearty early breakfast at the hotel. From there you will be taken to the Mandalay by a car. Upon reaching Mandalay, you will be dropped at the Mandalay International Airport to catch the flight for your destination.
