Tea Plantation in India has been hugely admired and it has received a lot of popularity in the recent years worldwide. Vacationers from across the world every year visit the Tea estates of the country to learn more about tea plantation and taste different flavors of the beverage.

Day 01: Kolkata

The tour commences from the City of Joy, Kolkata. Arrive at the Kolkata airport or at the Howrah railway station where our representative will be available to escort you to the hotel. On arrival do the check in formalities and relax for some time. In the afternoon savor authentic Bengali food and set out to do some sightseeing in the city. Explore Victoria Memorial, a premier attraction and a perfect example of finesse European architecture, the pious St Paul’s Cathedral, the popular shrine Kali Temple, Majestic Howrah Bridge, beautiful Botanical Garden, Fort William and Indian Museum. After sightseeing, return back to hotel for dinner and night stay.

Day 02: Kolkata to New Jalpaiguri

In the morning have some delicious breakfast and spent some leisure time indoors. If interested, one can visit the nearby areas in the morning to enjoy the warmth and beauty of the city. In the afternoon after lunch, get going for the railway station to board a train for New Jalpaiguri. It’s an overnight journey to the destination.

Day 03: New Jalpaiguri- Darjeeling

In the morning arrive at New Jalpaiguri and with our representative take a drive of 71kms via NH55 to Darjeeling. This is a pleasant journey which gets completed by two and a half hours time. On arrival at Darjeeling check into a hotel for night stay.

Day 04: Darjeeling Sightseeing

On the fourth day of the tour set out to enjoy the Darjeeling, The Queen of Hills with the early morning sun. Leave early before sunrise and visit Tiger Hill from where the pictorial views of sunrise especially on the gigantic peaks makes it a breathtaking and captivating view for all. Once the scenic expedition is done return to the city proper and on the way visit the Ghoom Monastery which was constructed in 1857. Built in by Lama Sherab Gyatso the monastery believes in the Gelug School of Tibetan Budhism. It has a 15 feet high statue of Future Buddha which is worth a look. On the way back visit the Batasla Loop and return hotel for the day. Have lunch and relax for some time. In the afternoon set out to visit the tea gardens or the local markets to enjoy the lifestyle here. At night return hotel for night stay.

Day 05: Darjeeling – Pemayangtse

In the morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast and set out for a drive of 68kms to Pemayangtse in Sikkim. This is a journey of 2 hours through pleasant scenic locations. On arrival check in a hotel and freshen up. Leave for a sightseeing tour to Pemayangtse monastery and enjoy the grand structure in Pelling , Western Sikkim around 12 kms from Pemayangtse. Constructed in 1705 by Lama Lhatsun Chempo this is one of the oldest monasteries present in this land. It is based at an elevation of around 2085mts. After sightseeing return back to hotel for dinner and night stay.

Day 06: Pemayangtse – Gangtok

Post breakfast set out for a marvelous visit to Gangtok around 108kms away. The distance is usually covered by NH510 and takes about 3 hours to reach the destination. On arrival check in a hotel and enjoy the ambience of the place. The rest of the day is for leisure. Have night stay at the hotel.

Day 07: Gangtok Sightseeing

The seventh day of the tour is dedicated for sightseeing in Gangtok. Post breakfast set out Bonjhakri Falls, Do-drul-Chorten, Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday), and the unique Flower Exhibition Centre. If time permits one can also drive to Tsonmgo Lake Based around 40 km away from Gangtok. The sacred lake is about a km long and around 15m deep. While returning visit to Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple, which is about 16 km from Tsonmgo Lake. After sightseeing return back to hotel for dinner and night stay.

Day 08: Gangtok – Rumtek Monastery

Post breakfast set out to visit the Rumtek Monastery which is around 23kms away from city proper. Take a drive through NH31A and will reach the destination by an hour time. Often named as Dharmachakra Centre, this was built around 1700 and is at present the largest monastery of Sikkim. Having an altitude of 1500 meters, this serves as a spectacle and a pious shrine for all devotees. After the Rumtek visit set out to visit other popular attractions like Enchey Monastery, Residency, White Memorial hall, Deer park and others. Visit the local markets for shopping and then return back to hotel for dinner and night stay.

Day 09: Rumtek- Jalpaiguri- Kolkata

Having breakfast, set out for a drive to New Jalpaiguri which is based at a distance of 156kms and takes about 4 hours to reach. On arrival at Jalpaiguri, drive to the railway station to board a train for Kolkata. It’s an overnight journey in train.

Day 10: Kolkata

Reach Kolkata in the morning and check in a hotel. After a lip smacking lunch set out to visit other attractions in Kolkata like Dalhousie Square, Writers Building, Park Street, Science City and Nicco Park. At night enjoy some special Bengali dishes and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 11: Departure

In the morning enjoy a special breakfast of hot Luchi and potato curry along with hot jalebis quite famous in this area. After breakfast pack your bags for a drive to the airport where you can board the flight for your homeland. And that puts an end to a delightful and memorable trip.
