CHARDHAM YATRA

Day 01: Delhi to Haridwar (Distance 205 Km; approx 6 hrs)

In the morning we will get started for our journey to Haridwar from the heart of the country Delhi. We will take the route via Meerut and Roorke and reach Haridwar in about 6 hrs. A comfortable hotel at Haridwar will welcome you for a check-in. In the evening you will witness the mesmerizing aarti at the holy Har ki Pauri. The day will end with a comfortable night stay in your hotel.

Day 02: Haridwar to Barkot (Distance 215 Kms; approx 5 – 6 hrs)

The next day, after the nice breakfast, we will begin the drive to Barkot. On the way we will pass Dehradun and Mussorie. We will also halt at Mussoorie for the lunch. By the evening you will have reached Barkot where a luxurious Swill tent would be waiting for you so that you could spend the night comfortably.

Day 03: Barkot to Yamunotri and back to Barkot (Distance: 42 km Drive and 6 km trek)

The breakfast will be served to you a little early in the morning, which will be followed by a drive to Janki Chatti. This is as far a vehicle could go. From this point on your 6km trek to Yamunotri will begin. Upon arrival at Yamunotri, you will get to see the famous Yamunotri temple. You can also pay your respects to the holy river Yamuna. Sit by the river for a while to experience some tranquil time. In the evening we will again head back to Janki Chatti following the same trekking route. At the end of the trek the drivers would be waiting for you to drive you back to Barkot where you will spend the night in the tent.

 

Day 04: Barkot to Uttarkashi (Distance 82 Km; approx 04 hrs)

The day 04 will again start a little early in the morning when we will get started for the 82km drive to Uttarakashi. Along the way you will be able to enjoy your visit to the cave of Prakateshwar. It is a cave made of natural limestone. However, what it is really known for is the naturally formed shapes in the likeness of the revered shivling. The hotels room will be ready and waiting for your arrival at Uttarakashi. You can relax in the hotel before you head out for the visit to the famous Vishwanath Temple. Spend your night in the hotel as more adventures await you the next day.

Uttarakashi is one of most famous towns of the state Uttarakhand. It stretches along the banks of River Bahgirathi and is known for being host to famous holy places. Bhairav, Vishwanath, and Ekasash Rudra are some of the most renowned shrines situated in Uttarakashi.

 

 

Day 05: Uttarkashi to Gangotri and back to Uttarkashi (Distance: 200 km back and forth)

Early morning of day 5 we will drive down to Gangotri, the place where the holy river Ganges emerges. This is the place where the headstream of Ganges, Bhagirathi originates. Bhagirathi is said to be the source stream of the holy river of Ganges. You can take the dip in the holy waters of this river and also enjoy the beautiful landscapes and surroundings. We will head back to Uttarakashi in the afternoon where you will spend the night in a cosy hotel.

Day 06: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi (Distance 223 kms; approx 9 – 10 hrs)

You will enjoy the breakfast a little early in the morning before heading to Guptkashi. Since the journey is long, you will have your lunch somewhere in Molgarh, Tilwara, or Ghansali. While on the way, you will also witness the beautiful city of Tehri which is now gradually descending into the Ganges River. You will be witness to the splendid sight of Mandakini River along the way. After a long and eventful journey, we will reach Guptkashi in the evening. Check into the hotel and enjoy the comfortable overnight stay.

 

Day 07: Guptakashi to Kedarnath (Distance 32 km Drive; approx 14km trek)

Our journey to famous Kedarnath will begin in the morning of day 7. We will drive down to Gaurikund which is only a little over 30 km from Guptakashi. From Gaurikund we will follow the 14 km winding trek to Kedarnath. Along the way you will be able to enjoy your lunch at Rambara. At Kedarnath a comfortable room in a tourist bungalow or hotel will be waiting for you. Relax and gather your revitalize for a while before your visit to the famous Kedarnath Temple. While at the temple you will also see the Shankaracharya Samadhi. We will come back to the hotel to unwind and relax in the night.

Day 08: Kedarnath to Pipalkoti (14 Km trek and 145 kms Drive)

We will come back to Gaurikund again in the morning following the same 14km tortuous trek. The vehicles will be waiting to take you for a nearly 150 km drive to Pipalkoti. Upon arrival you will check into a hotel where you will spend the night.

 

Day 09: Pipalkoti to Badrinath (Distance 72 km)

After a nice breakfast we will continue our journey further to Shri Badrinath Ji. However, along the way you will also get to see several revered temples such as Adi Shankracharya Samadhi and Narshing Temple. We will briefly halt at these holy places so that you can fold your hands, bow your head, and pay your respect. After reaching Badrinath you will straightaway check into a hotel and get ready for an eventful day ahead. The rest of the day will be punctuated by the visit to Tapt Kund, Mana Village, Bheep Pul, Ganesha Cave, and Byas Cave. Mana Village could be of particular interest to you as it is along the Tibetan border beyond which the Indian jurisdiction ends. You will be driving back to Badrinath. If you are up to it, in the evening you can go for the Aarti. Stay in the comfortable hotel in the night before we step into day 10.

 

Day 10: Badrinath to Rudraprayag (Distance 160 km)

Before you head to Rudraprayag, we highly recommend the holy bath at Sri Badrinath. However, you will need to wake up at around 3:30 in the morning for it. But the spectacle you will witness will certainly be worth your efforts.

Drive to Rudraprayag will follow the nice breakfast. Along the way we will pass places like Joshimath, Nanda Prayag and Karna Prayag. Upon reaching Rudraprayag you will straightaway check into a coxy hotel where you will spend the rest of the night.

 

Day 11: Rudraprayag to Rishikesh (Distance 135 Km; approx 7 hrs)

After the breakfast in the morning we will get started for Rishikesh. Along the way we will pass Srinagar and Devprayag. The holy place Devprayag is very significant for Hindus. This is the place where the two headstreams, Bhagirathi and Alaknanda, unite and their confluence creates the holiest of the holy river Ganges. While on the way you will also witness some serene landscapes and overwhelming sights. A hotel room will be ready for you in Rishikesh. In the evening you can visit the very famous Laxman Jhula, an iron suspension bridge under which the holy Ganges flows. Come back to the hotel after the visit to Laxman Jhula and spend the night comfortably.

 

Day 12: Rishikesh to Delhi (Distance 234 km)

Have a nice breakfast before we head back to the capital city Delhi. It will be by afternoon when you will reach Delhi.
