Bhubaneshwar is a historical city located in the eastern coastal plains and is the capital of Indian state Odissa. It is also called the ‘City of Temples’, and is named after the Lord of three worlds, Tribhuvaneswar. Alongside Puri and Konark, the city forms the ‘golden triangle’ of east India and its most visited places.

Bhubaneshwar is a city rich of historical and mythological legends. The city still protects more than five hundred temples of the country with fine architecture. The history of the city is a rich chronicle of over two thousand years. The city was also the ancient capital of historical Kalinga. The city is surrounded by dense forests Chandaka and Nandankanan giving it the lush green beauty. The city has a number of temples like Ananta Vasudeva Temple, Brahmeswara Temple, Gauri Sankara Ganesa Temple and Lingaraj Temple to name a few. There are several other holy places like Atri and Bindu-Sarovara Tank to visit. The city also has natural landscapes Chandipur beach, Chilka Lake, Dhauli Hills and Nandankanan Zoo.

The city is well connected by roads, railway tracks and air routes. Flights from major cities of India, lands on the Biju Patnaik Airport, on a daily basis. There are several superfast trains by which the tourist can reach the city. It is also well linked with the national highways of India.
