Architecture of Gujarat with Mumbai

The Gujarat Architecture tour along with Mumbai is planned in such a way that the tourists get to explore the spectacular and stunning  monuments and architectural brilliance available in the state along with Mumbai, which serves as the economical capital of the country. Be it Ashrams or Mosques, museums or palaces the tour has it all to savor a splendid tour in India.

The tour Itinerary remains as follows

Day 01: Arrive Mumbai

The spectacular tour commences from Mumbai. So you have to board a flight to Mumbai and in the airport there will be our representative to receive you cordially. From airport drive straight to the hotel, and perform the hotel check in formalities. Once done relax for the day at the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 02: Mumbai sightseeing

Post breakfast at the hotel, leave early in the morning for Mumbai sightseeing. Drive straight to Elephanta Island which is based around 10kms away from Mumbai city and enjoy the Elephanta Caves temples which have been constructed during the 6th or 7th century. After Elephanta Island drive back to city proper and visit the popular tourist destination in the city like Gateway of India, Kamla Nehru Park, Princess of Wales Museum, and Hanging Gardens.  In the evening visit the ever popular Chowpati Beach and try the delicious mouth melting chaats of Mumbai. Take a drive through the Marine drive lane as it provides a brilliant glance of the picturesque city to fetch some quick clicks. Return back to hotel for dinner and night stay.

Day 03: Mumbai- Baroda (Vadodara)

The next day morning enjoy a healthy breakfast at the hotel and leave for airport, to board a flight for Vadodara. On arrival check in a hotel to relax, and then set out for the sightseeing tour at Vadodara.  First visit the museums and art galleries based in the city and then take a drive to Champaner which is located almost 47kms away from Vadodara. Champaner is one the ancient traditional towns of Gujarat founded by Sultan Mehmud Begada, which is known to have served as the capital of the state during 16th century. However this was for a limited period only. From Champaner drive straight for Pavagadh Archeological Park which is an UNESCO world heritage site studded with great architectural remnants, cultural heritage monuments and structures like tombs, mosques, temples, tanks etc. There is a Kalika Mata Temple in the Park which is worth a visit. From Pavagadh leave for visiting the tribal locations of Panchmahals district and the beautiful Chota Udaipur region to explore the traditional lifestyle of people based here. Thatched houses, self painted walls and life filled with rituals and customs of the tribal people makes an excellent experience for visitors. After the tour check into a hotel for night stay.

Day 04: Chota Udaipur- Ahmedabad

Prepare for departure in the morning after having breakfast for a drive of 5 hrs to Ahmedabad which is based 250kms away.  Ahmedabad is the largest and one of the prominent cities of Gujarat. Once reaching the city, get transferred to a hotel to freshen up. Once done, set out for a city tour to explore the beautiful city on the banks of Sabarmati River. The city tour begins by visiting Jama Masjid, which is an architectural construction of 1423 built by Ahmed Shah. From Jama Masjid drive to Kankaria Lake and enjoy leisure strolling on the banks of the largest artificial lake of the city. A beautiful historical location built in for the relaxation of the travelers is the Dada Hari Vav, steep well of 1501 built by Mahmud Begda. Return after the sightseeing tour and have dinner and night stay at the hotel.

Day 05: Ahmedabad- Lothal –Palitana

Post breakfast leave for a heritage walk on the streets of Ahmedabad to visualize the city ambience and the multiple Havelis based in the city. After the mini tour, leave away straight for Palitana which is based at a distance of 335 kms. On the way visit Lothal which is around 85kms away from Ahmedabad. Based on the western side of Gulf of Khambat, near Sabarmati River, this is an ancient town with a lot of heritage in terms of remnants of the Indus Valley Civilization. In fact it is one of the very first locations along with Rangpur which showed the first signs of Indus valley civilization in the country. Once roaming in Lothal is done continue for Palitana. On reaching Palitana check in at a hotel for night stay.

Day 06: Palitana- Diu

Post breakfast on the seventh day of the tour leave for sightseeing in Palitana. Palitana is better described as a pilgrimage center for the Jains since it has sufficient number of Jain temples. To get the best view of the temples, visit Shatrunjaya Hills where the temple complexes holds around 860 temples based together. It’s one of scared sites for all religions but especially for the Jains. From Palitana, move to Diu which is around 331kms away and takes about 7 hours to reach. On arrival check in a hotel and freshen up. In the afternoon set out for Diu tour starting with the 16th century Portuguese Fort. Apart from this one should also visit the multiple churches namely St Paul Church of 17th century, and other popular spots. After sightseeing, return back to the hotel for night stay.

Day 07: Diu- Somnath-Gir

In the morning have a nice breakfast at the hotel at set out for a drive towards the beautiful Gir. On the way take a stopover at Somnath to visit the popular Somnath Temple based near Veraval in the city of Saurashtra. Famous for having 12 Jyoti Lingas of Lord Shiva, this is one of the prominent religious shrines for both Hindus and other religions. It’s a 4 hours longs drive covering 150kms from Diu to Gir. After reaching Gir, check in to a hotel for delicious dinner and night stay.

Day 08: Gir- Junagadh- Gondal

Post breakfast, it’s time to explore Gir National Park and the lion sanctuary famous for Asiatic Lions. Around 350 Asiatic lions are present in Gir National Park. After an elaborate tour in Gir, set out for Gondal nearly 123 kms away, and takes about 3 hours to reach the destination. On the way take a halt at Junagadh city close to the Girnar hills. There are multiple tourist spots in this location which includes palace museum, Buddhist caves and royal mausoleums.  Check it out all and continue for Gondal. On arrival check in a hotel and freshen up for a sightseeing venture in Gondal. Visit the famous Naulakha Palace, the oldest palace of the area, built in 1748 AD. It has marvelous architecture and supreme art works, carved arches, pillared courtyard and chandelier lit Darbar. Enjoy the brilliance of construction here and return back to hotel for night stay.

Day 09: Gondal- Dasada

After having breakfast in the morning set out for Dasada which is a drive of 220kms. On the way to Dasada take a small stopover before the local villages where one can find artisans art work. Enjoy the hand work and the minute details take care in making a fun scaled artifact. After the visit continue the drive to Dasada. On arrival check in a hotel and unwind. In the evening set out for an excursion to Rann of Kutch to experience desert wildlife established in 1972. Here one can enjoy the sight of multiple animals like chinkara gazelle, wolf, desert fox, blackbuck antelope, hyena, nilgai antelope, jackal, desert cat, and caracal. After sightseeing, return back to hotel for night stay.

Day 10: Dasada- Modhera- Patan- Balaram

Post breakfast on the 10th day set out for a drive to Balaram which is nearly 180kms from Dasada. On the way take a stopover at Modhera which is famous for 11th century Sun Temple with brilliant artistic architecture. This temple was constructed by King Bhimdev in 1026 AD. Dedicated to Lord Surya, it bears a lot of similarity in design and look with the Konark Sun Temple in Orissa. From Modhera take a straight drive to Patan to see another excellent structure of 11th century built, a step well. From here continue for Balaram through Sidpur which is also denoted as a holy destination since it is based at the amalgamation of Ganga and Saraswati River. After Reaching Balaram, check in to a hotel and stay overnight.

Day 11: Balaram- Taranga-Vadnagar- Ahmedabad

Start the following day with a healthy breakfast and leave for Ahmedabad which is around 250kms from Balaram. On the way take a halt at Taranga which host the beautiful 12th century Shvetambar Jain temple, a pious shrine much popular among the Jains. Built by King Kumarpal this is a piece of great architecture from 1121 AD. From Taranga drive to Vadnagar town to witness some of the great temples, giant caves, wells etc. After sightseeing continue for Ahmedabad. On reaching check into a hotel for night halt.

Day 12: Ahmedabad

Post breakfast leave for Ahmedabad airport and board a fligh
