14 Days In Yangon

Day 01: Arrive at Yangon

The exotic tour begins from the beautiful city of Yangon which in the historic times was often referred as Rangoon. It’s a charming city with immense attractions in terms of scenic expeditions, pious shrines, colonial architecture, thousands of Buddhist Pagodas, stupas evident of the majestic reign of the Rulers of bygone era, harmonious ambience and a lot more. On arrival at Yangon, our representative will welcome you and help you fetch a comfortable ride to the hotel and make arrangements to settle you the best.

After some relaxation the sightseeing tour commences by visiting the beautiful Shwedagon Pagoda, which is one of the most prominent shrines in Yangon city. The greatest attraction of this place is the giant 100m high golden stupa covered with 60 tons of golden leaf. It is better to reach the location before sunset as during sunset time a lot of rituals and customs are done here by the locals of Myanmar. It’s a fabulous view during this time. Also when the lights lit up for the night, the stupa glows in its golden colour making it a hugely attractive sight. After sightseeing return back to hotel for dinner and night stay.

Day 02: Yangon –Bagan by Train

Post breakfast the next day, depending on the weather and climatic condition the tour begins by hiring a tri rickshaw to travel towards Strand Road to enjoy the Botahtaung jetty. After the visit take a straight drive to explore the reclining Buddha. From here the next halt would be the famous Bogyoke Market, the most popular and famous market of Yangon established by the British in the year 1926. It is also often referred as the Scott Market. The major attraction of this market, apart from its colonial structure and cobblestone laden streets, are the fabulous collections of local goods and costumes, jewelleries and home decoration items. Several fine arts and handicraft works makes it a preferred destination for both tourists and locals.

After having lunch set out for the Yangon railway station for boarding a train to Yangon. The trains in Myanmar are simple and comfortable rides. There are usually two car types and tourist mostly enjoy the first car service having reclining seats, clean floors and clean western toilets. Each compartment has arrangements for two to four people. However it must be noted that though the train journey provides an excellent ride through the scenic landscapes and tribal villages but it is still not strongly recommended specially with children as the journey can be long and tiring. (However for flights from Yangon- Bagan, there are special charges.) An overnight stay at the train

Day 03: Arrive Bagan

On arrival at Bagan gets transferred to the hotel in an exciting horse cart ride. The morning is for leisure after the whole night journey. After lunch, set out to explore the fabulous pictorial city of Bagan, and it’s amazing architecture. The first halt would be at Ananada Temple one of the oldest temples of Bagan. After the visit, head towards the Irrawaddy River where one can enjoy the cascading waters of the river and enjoy the local sport Chinlone which is played on the banks. The sport is a mixture of dance and game and there is no winning or losing. After a wonderful time on the banks, return back to hotel for night stay.

Day 04: Bagan Sightseeing

Post breakfast set out to visit the city on a tricycle to visit the temples of Nyaung U. Then visit the local market and explore the materials and local candles available here. Return to the hotel and have lunch at the hotel premises only. Taking a little rest set out to visit popular temples like Thatbyinnyu temple, the biggest one in Bagan, Dhammayangyi Temple and then finish off the day by enjoying the brilliant sunset at Shwesandaw. Have an overnight stay at the hotel in Bagan.

Day 05: Bagan – Mandalay by boat

Post breakfast set out to ride a boat jetty to travel towards Mandalay. It’s a whole day boat trip and takes considerable time to reach the destination. Sailing southwards on the Irrawaddy river, the boat passes through several villages which show glimpses of the local living style here and enjoy the scenic beauty of the location. On reaching Mandalay get transferred to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 06: Mandalay

The sixth day of the tour starts by enjoying fabulous breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast head for Amarapura where there is the beautiful Mahagandayon monastery which is the house for thousands of monks. The monastery holds several spiritual customs which can be viewed to gain an excellent experience. From Amarapura leave straight for U Bein Bridge which is a 200 year old bridge made up of 984 teak posts. The bridge is around 1.2 km in length and is considered the world largest teak span. Enjoy the scenic view of the region. Then return back to Mandalay and visit the famous sightseeing spots Mahamuni pagoda, Tapestry making home cottage, Marble carving workshop and Gold-leaf Beating workshop. Enjoy the sunset from Mandalay hill to conclude the beautiful day. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 07: Mandalay- Nyaung Shwe by car

Post breakfast, set out to visit the significant Paleik Snake temple and from there leave for a drive Nyaung Shwe which takes around 7 to 8 hours time. On reaching Nyaung Shwe get settled in a hotel and stay overnight.

Day 08: Nyaung Shwe(Inle Lake Visit)

Post breakfast the next day hire a private motor boat to visit the various parts of Inle regions, meet the Tibeto- Burman ethnic group, the Dawei tribe and enjoy the beautiful leg rowing fishermen and the mesmerizing floating gardens. After the morning tour return back to hotel and have lunch and then set out to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda to explore the historic Buddha statues. Later return to hotel and relax. The overnight stay is at the hotel in Nyaung Shwe

Day 09: Nyaung Shwe (Indein visits)

The next day post breakfast set out to visit the morning market on the lake. This is an exclusive market which moves around from one village to other across every day of the week. This is a colourful market and it is one of the popular ones among the locals. Next visit the Paoh village down the small canal and explore the beautiful Alaung Sitthou area which is famous for many Buddha stupas. The view of the lake from this area is quite captivating. After enjoying the fascinating tour return back to hotel at Nyaung Shwe for overnight stay.

Day 10: Nyaung Shwe- Kalaw

The tenth day of the tour is scheduled to visit Kalaw. So post breakfast, the tour begins by taking a drive towards Nyaung Shwe station from where its a train journey to Heho. After reaching Heho, it’s a splendid ox cart ride of 30 minutes across the location enjoying the lifestyle of the people based here. After sightseeing the next destination is Kalaw which is based in the dry zone of Myanmar through Shan Plateau. Kalaw is a beautiful hill station with unlimited scenic beauty which includes hilly areas, pine forests, blue skies and luscious flora and fauna. After reaching Kalaw, check into a hotel and stay overnight.

Day 11: Kalaw- Naypyitaw

The following day is scheduled for a visit to Naypyitaw, teh capital of Myanmer. So after relishing a healthy treat in the morning at the hotel set out for a long drive of 8 to 9 hours to reach the beautiful city of Naypyitaw. On arrival check in to a hotel in city center and enjoy seasoned local dishes in dinner. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 12: Naypyitaw- Pho Khar Elephant Camp- Taungoo

Post breakfast set out to enjoy and explore the world of elephants in Pho Khar Elephant Camp. Enjoy the beautiful elephant bathe and have an exclusive elephant ride across the demarcated area for an hour. Meet the elephant trainers and know more about training these giant yet peaceful animals. Having a fun day in Pho Khar Elephant camp, proceed further towards Taungoo which is again a 2 hours drive from the place. Stay overnight at Taungoo.

Day 13: Taungoo- Yangon

Post breakfast set out for a long drive to Yangon which takes around 7- 8 hours time. On reaching Yangon check into a hotel. Evening is for leisure where one can either go out for local treats at restaurants in Strand Road, set out shopping in the nearby markets or simply enjoying a relaxing night in the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel

Day 14: Departure

After having breakfast, pack your bags for a journey to Yangon International Airport from where you can board a flight for homeland.
